Re: Jacks Pass or Tonga this Sunday?

I realized I wrote Beckler Ridge, but meant Tonga Ridge. With all the great snow this week I get the wheeling will be great. Anyone up for a trip this coming weekend?

Any Snow Trips Coming Up?

Anyone setting up a snow wheeling trip soon? Ran Jacks Pass a few weeks ago and had a blast. Need some more snow while it's here :)

Re: Thanksgiving Weekend?

I didn't need new washers for the rear. The existing ones were well within tolerances. The front should be good since it doesn't get a lot of use. I won't know until I get it apart on Saturday.

Re: Thanksgiving Weekend?

It figures... That has been my luck with snow the past 2 years. I am using Aussie lockers front and rear and doing the installs myself. No gear setups with Aussies. Not as good as using ARB's, but at $250 each with me doing the work compared to around $1,400 (incl. installation, compressor, etc.) ea...

Thanksgiving Weekend?

I should be completing my front locker install on my FJ40 this weekend and looking forward to testing it out. It will be nice to be locked at both ends finally. Any trips planned for next weekend?

Re: Snow trip 2/2 in the south end

Feb 9th. Of course. The best conditions are always when I'm on-call and can't go.

Next club trip is Walker on the 23rd. I'll just have to wait

Nobody wrote:Probably a wise choice. The long range forecast doesn't show another cold wave until feb 9th.

Re: Snow trip 2/2 in the south end

Snow level is up around 5,000 feet with rain below. Every where I thought to go is getting rained on. Snow conditions look poor for wheeling this weekend. Cancelling this trip.

Snow trip 2/2 in the south end

Went snow wheeling up north of Seattle two weeks ago now want to go south. I want to put a trip together for 2/2 if possible. Anybody been to Lonesome Lake (FS75 off Hwy 410 south of Greenwater) recently? Probably poor snow conditions right now, but it should snow again soon. How about Copper Creek ...

Maybe next time.

I'm still up for a couple more snow runs this season before I get sick of snow.

Re: Jacks Pass 1/12

It was a good trip. Three rigs total. We went up 6520 until we burried our rigs to the skid plates. Some Toyota trucks came up after us and were able to go about a mile further. It would be nice to be sprung over on 37's... http://i378.photobucket.com/albums/oo222/srgould41/102_3832.jpg Where I got ...

Jacks Pass 1/12

Heading to Jacks Pass on Saturday. So far two confirmed rigs and one possible if he can find safe trailer parking in Skykomish.

If we can't get up Jacks Pass we may head over to Tonga Ridge instead.

Anyone want to go?

Re: Current Recommendations?

I understand the gas price issue. At times I really wish I went with a Toy pickup instead of my Land Cruiser. I only get 11 MGP.
n16ht5 wrote:too far away, sorry. I have plenty of better stuff within 20min of me. Have fun... If gas were still 1.20$ a gallon I would :(

There are now 2 confirmed rigs going.

Re: Current Recommendations?

Jack's Pass it is. Saturday morning. If we have to divert we'll head across the road to Tonga Ridge.

Anyone want to come along? So far it's myself and four other "tentative" rigs.

Re: Current Recommendations?

You're welcome to join us, it would be nice to have someone along who knows the area :) I can't believe no one has been all the way over the pass.... I guess there aren't too many snow wheelers out there anymore. Might have to make a run down there. Jacks Pass is nice because the main road doesn't h...

Thanks, I did see your post and another. Truthfully I had forgotten.... Both good suggestions. I'll hunt down the Jacks Pass location on Google. I found your 2010 trip report with the location. We literally made it about a mile to 2,600'. Did you check my reply to your other post? Jacks Pass i...

Re: Trip Report: New Years Day 2013 Hangover Run

If I head up there on the 12th it might be better because you "broke trail" already? :D Have a link to a Google map of the location? thx Hey Thanks! We had a great time with you all. We did not get anywhere as there was no way around the logging equipment. Dion and Steve headed home and I ...

Current Recommendations?

I am working on a trip with some buddies. Possibly on Jan 12th. I am looking for some recommendations on currently accessible locations north of Seattle.

Others are welcome to join us when we go... I'll be cross posting on other forums too.
