Thanks. Southside mountain loop. I may have to venture down south there, some time.

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 2021/2022 Season

I'm a little NW of you and would like to try to get out for a snow run. I'm picking up an 85 Toyota tonight and after I get the windshield fixed/sealed, I'll be up for a run. Maybe get somewhere and snowshoe for a bit.

Winter camping is a bit more work, but well worth it. At 2:15, dude says it perfectly. I'll take the peace and solitude over the heat, crowds and bugs of the summer all day long.

Trip Report: WA NF-4330 11/24-25/2020

Headed north, out of Cle Elum, to find a spot to camp. I'd never been in the area, but had read about it and seen people post pictures of the area. It's been an area I've wanted to have a look at for quite some time. I cast out a line to my regular buddies and everyone was busy. I cast out another l...

I'm still here. It's been quite a while since I've frequented here, though. Went camping a few weekends ago and am really rediscovering how much I love the snow. Will be sticking around.

Re: Vehicle recommendation?

The only thing I will add is that, sadly, you aren't going to get real far with only $3k. For $3k you'll be getting either something that is old, beat up and on it's last leg or something that has no business snow wheeling. At $6k you're starting to get somehwere. At $8k-$9k things are getting much ...

Great pictures. I'm not sure if others share the same sentiment, but your photography of the places you go are very inspiring. Thanks for the great pictures of what’s out there from someone that wishes to get out more. Any reason for the front fender on your snobike?

Re: 2/23 snow wheeling?

Is meeting at 10:45 or 11:00 too late? That would work best for me. That's getting a little late for me on a Sunday. Especially if we have to farther out. I think we're going to try and go next weekend if you want to wait. I have to cancel. Really wish I could have made this work. Maybe next weekend.

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling Feb 17, 2014

I would be bringing my 1 1/2 yo daughter, so kids are a must. A lot of stopping to play required :) I'll ask if we can go sunday I'm all for a fun, kids are welcome, run. My boy is down if it's just riding in the Jeep. If we're going to get out and play a decent amount, a few of my girls, 4 and 8yo...

DIY chains?

Has anyone attempted to make any? I just saw that Rainier has areas open but have stated that "All vehicles are required to carry chains when traveling in the park during the winter season (Nov 1 - May 1)." I don't have any for the Jeep and thought it couldn't too hard. Though they could b...
