Re: Snow pictures from our trip down south.

I had Sally set the camera for a ten second delay, when he got out of his car to bring me the ticket I put the camera up on the dash and hit the button. It was funny as hell and hard to keep a straight face while I got the "you need to watch you speed" talk. He never said a word about the ...

Re: Snow pictures from our trip down south.

Oh, and yes, I think we got some good video thanks to brother Jesse. We were so busy wheeling (and drinking afterwards :puke: ) that we haven't had a chance to watch any yet. If any are fit for public viewing they will be posted soon.

Re: Snow pictures from our trip down south.

We drove back the long way and went over Mt. Hood and it was pretty sad to see how little snow fell in the the last week. Driving the Suburban down was great, I always said I would drive it on a long adventure since thats what I built it for, just never got around to it. Gas mileage was 7.5 which is...

Snow pictures from our trip down south.

The snow was wet, deep and a whole lot of fun. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/toddkaz/TahoeSnow072.jpg Ready to make another run. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu321/toddkaz/TahoeSnow073.jpg Here the snow was 7 feet deep and we were sinking in about 40 inches or so which made for ver...

Re: Snow Down South

Thanks, we are heading out in a couple hours. I was going to trailer the Suburban down, but yesterday (after a couple beers) decided to drive it down instead and make it a real adventure. 46" tires and 1500 miles, never done that before. We'll keep everyone posted.

Re: Snow Down South

I have been around this area a few times and have gone snow wheeling near here last year when Four Wheeler came along to photograph the Frostbite Extreme snow run for CAL4WD. We are not meeting up with anyone but plan to meet a few new friends during the snow storm, winds in the higher elevation ar...

Re: Snow Down South

Well we've decided to do it. Most of the arrangments have been made and we are leaving on Tuesaday. My brother Jesse used his time share credits and booked us a room in Kalamath Falls for one night then two nights in South Lake Tahoe at an elevation of 6400'. Snow forecast in the area is calling fo...

Snow Down South

It may be time to head to California. This is one forecasters opinion of what will happen January 19 - 23 in the Sierra Nevada Range. Sierra and southern California Mountain Snowfall: Here you will need more than one yard stick to measure the snowfall. Mostly all snow will fall above 6,500 feet arou...

Re: New Years Day Snow Photos

Asphalt then gravel, then back to asphalt, so yes it is a great road to race on, nice and wide with no steep drop offs. This area tops off at around 4500 ft. which is normally plenty high this time of year, except of course for this year.

Re: Hangover Run 2010 Trip Report

Looks like we had a little more snow here down south :D I love the sidehill shot, classic off camber situation. It really is hard to believe how much snow was there last year, the side by side pictures really tell the story. What elevation did you all make it to?

New Years Day Snow Photos

All started well with plenty of rigs and lots of snow (up high) and then my buddies Blazer broke down in the middle of a narrow, steep trail with no way to navigate around him........and that was the start of a long, very wet night. Here we are early in the day reaching snow at about 2500 feet. http...

Getting close to 6:00 am and we are almost ready to head out of Vancouver. Snow level is up again this morning but we'll go as far as we have to to find the good stuff. Have fun and Happy New Year!

Re: Who's going snow wheelin New Years Day?

We are heading out early on New Years Day in hopes of finding some deep snow. My son came in from North Dakota last week and we went out to scout some trails for our Hangover run. Pretty slim pickins around here until we got to about 4000' or so and then we found some deeper stuff. The local weather...

Re: Icelandic Bronco gettin some!

Yeah I'm jealous too. Here it is December 20th and the snow level in southern Washington is around 7,000 ft. I'm ready to ship my truck over to Iceland and REALLY have some fun. Good video looks like they were really having a good time.

Re: subaru with tracks

Great video. I have toyed with the idea of buying a set of Mattracks for years but just couldn't justify the cost (translation...wife says no way!). I have never seen them move like this, for some reason I have always pictured them on a large rig lumbering through the deep snow, maybe I should re-th...

Re: Who has a GPS?

I am using the Lowwrance Baja 540C. This unit works very well in the mountainous areas as you can purchase region specific maps that are very detailed for that region. Lowrance has the U.S. divided into 5 or 6 regions, my map covers six states in the western and northwest region. You are able to map...

Re: New member. I like your idea for this site.

Thank you. The photographer took hundreds of pictures of the Suburban and sold them to Four Wheeler to do a article on the truck. It's my understanding though that black trucks don't show up well in magazines. So I am happy to at least have the one picture in there.
