In general lighter weight is better for deep snow... but is there ever a time when a bit more weight in the back is better? Did this happen? From the couple patches of snow I drove on today, I can't imagine doing anything serious on that snowpack. No traction, it's just slush at this point.

As long as you remove your license plates, can you legally drive roads that are "closed to licensed motor vehicles"?

Rotating them did make it slightly worse but not by much. I don't think it's anything loose, went around and checked torques a while back.
