Re: New Sneakers with Tax Refund...

I hear you on that. They were quite a bit more than the treps and almost didn't go that way myself for the same reason.

Re: New Sneakers with Tax Refund...

My short list for 35x12.5r15 I bought this summer was trxus mt's and maxxis trepador radials. Trxus has soft sidewalls and killer factory sipes and do really well in the snow which is why I went that way and the treps are heavier and stronger sidewalls so I rock crawled more often I would have went ...

Re: Sliding Backwards

From my experience driving trucks off highway if I start sliding backwards and can't hold it usually best off to push in clutch or find nuetral and steer to back into the high side bank. Either you'll be stopped there or spin around and drive it out forwards down the hill. If you've lost control I'd...

Re: Fubars snow jeep build

Just found goodyears military tire site and if my eyes don't decieve me those tires are in excess of 200 pounds each. They are designed for 5 ton trucks. With no air in them i think you'd barely notice it. Caribou 6x6 in Quesnel bc can get those too and might save you a ton in shipping to retrieve t...

Re: Fubars snow jeep build

Those military tires are super heavy and sidewalls super stiff. Need dual beadlocks and no air whatsoever at a minimum with heavy grooving and siping.

Re: Need some help getting set up

I know 33x12.5 fit your truck without a lift at all. I've seen 2 personally like that. That being said a 35 only needs a little over 1" more room when turned so I wouldn't think it would be a problem. If a guy found an old 35 someone was getting rid of you could mount one up and cycle and turn ...

Re: Need some help getting set up

A 2000 f150 should go 35's with a leveling kit and some minor trimming. I would shoot for something like a duratrac studded up and air way down. Smittybuilt has a killer 12v air comp that makes airing up fairly painless. Lockers are expensive so it budget is tight I'd make sure your suspension isn't...

Re: Questions about snow wheeling "willing" :)

Those portals are really cool in helping out. That being said tire size rules. My jeep is 4000 pounds and on 35x12.5 tires and it's barely enough. Lacking actually for true snow wheeling. Silicone sealant will hurt bead retention (make it worse) than not having any. One tip I've seen is mounting tir...

Re: 2015/2016 Snow Wheeler check-in

The night of nov 14 I'm headed out snow wheeling. New swamper trxus mt's to try out. Should be a solid run. Original plan is already out due to snowmobiles already have the mountain beat down. But lots of places to go. I'll post up pics when I get a chance.

Re: SNOW, SNOW, SNOW, SNOW!!!!!!!!!!

I can see snow from my house in the Shuswap BC but I'm missing a door. Next time I'm home doing a snow night run up the mountains. Should be a solid snow wheeling trip I think

Re: Snow wheeling gear

For us I wouldn't call last year disappointing, first trip was early oct in snow and was enough I turned around due to tough conditions icy and sugary snow, and last trip in the snow some friends were in was beginning of July. April and May I did some decent snow wheeling with my 35's. Late jan feb ...

Re: Fubars snow jeep build

The salmon area is great for snow wheeling. That's my area. Getting the itch already. 2-3 months will starting to see snow. I will have to keep your name here for later, my folks have a cabin at blind bay 20 minutes past salmon... It would be awesome too meet up when the times right and wheel aroun...

Re: Snow wheeling gear

Fair enough, thanks for the pics. Guess that's why you also shouldn't wheel alone in the snow to much. Looks like extra hands come in handy too. Knew I was breaking lots of rules but I had enough gear to camp out or get myself home anyways.

Re: Snow wheeling gear

When I broke my axle last year I had a fight getting turned around. I couldn't get enough height from my 4 foot Jackall to get my tires off the ground as I'm fairly flexy and on top of the snow. I tried using my spare tire for a base but it kept tilting the wrong way and couldn't hold the jeep up. W...

Snow wheeling gear

Just curious as to what you guys pack for jacks and such. Normally all I have is my jack all. Was wondering if anyone used those inflatable jacks in the snow as it be easier than trying to find a solid base, might just lift? Also wondering if anyone packed stuff like the tred boards or sand ladder t...

Hello

Fairly new to the snow wheeling game. Just joined up to try and learn a few things. Live in the north okanagan/Shuswap region of BC. Snow wheeling season is fairly lengthy but my rig is modest for the snow season. Custom tj stretched 15" in the wheelbase but same size tub as lj, Detroit rear 44...
