Re: Hey everyone, I’m not new but back

Welcome back. I'm not really familiar with the south end, but with the snow level finally dropping, should open up some options. Shame everything is getting closed.

Thanks for sharing... you're really getting the push technique down! Jealous of all that nice snow. We're just now getting some.

Re: Boudoir with the Wife in the Snow near Mt Vernon

Segelsen is nf-18 west of darrington. You can also go out mountain loop highway and hit green mountain, or boardman. Probably too many people there though. Lots of little side roads around baker lake. Really need the snow level to drop though. Stevens area is more reliable, but damn I hate that drive.

Re: Boudoir with the Wife in the Snow near Mt Vernon

I haven't been active either... I thought the forum was completely dead, didn't realize anyone was posting, ooops. Had to google boudoir. Guessing that's a solo trip. Anyway, snow has been lacking this year, looks like we're just now getting decent blast. I haven't been out this year yet, so i don't...

Are you back on four wheels? I have work on Friday, but I think I can get out on Saturday. It's been a long time.

Very nice! I wonder if your 17” wheels are affecting the low pressure performance. I can’t recall ever having worse performance at lower pressure...

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 2017/2018

I would love to, but the The Great Northwest Glass Quest just started and I’d get disowned if I ditch the family this weekend. Conditions sure look good though!

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 2017/2018

I think today would have been great up north. I was watching the animated radar and Skagit county was perfectly inline with the Olympic rain shadow. Not a drop of rain all day. I blew it this weekend.

12 feet of snow in nine days

I was just reading the Mount Baker snow report . They’ve gotten over 12 feet of snowfall in the past 9 days. As predicted by the Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center (NWAC) and NOAA, temperatures have warmed up at Mt. Baker today with snow levels up around 6000 feet combined with significant rain....

Re: Mattracks vs Tires

I’m not suggesting tires are better, but I do question if Mattracks are really worth it for what we do, considering all the extra hassle of trailering and swapping the the mattracks on etc. I suspect if the snow was good enough for the Toyota on tracks to drive without effort, then a wheeled vehicle...

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 2017/2018

Yeah, I think last weekend would have been good. I thought about going out this morning, but it was pretty windy, so I decided not to. It ended up being a really nice day today. I’m up for a run tomorrow morning if want.

Mattracks vs Tires

I just watched these videos of a Toyota Tacoma on Mattracks up on Tonga Ridge in some fresh snow. I’m surprised by how much he still has to work at it. I guess that just reinforces my opinion that when the snow is good nearly anything works, and when conditions are tough, nothing works well. It woul...

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 2017/2018

Took a quick run up the hill to check out the snow situation. Overall pretty disappointing for this time of year. Very little snow below 4,000'. What snow there was, wasn't great for driving in. I'll call it slow snow. Too much throttle and I'd start digging. I was the only wheeled vehicle up there ...
