Re: Snow wheeling skykomish area 2016/17
i bet we'd get record snowfall if I pull my transmission. Ha, I hurried up and got my transfer case finished last weekend in preparation for this week's snow that was forecast for our area. Now it sounds like the snow isn't going to amount to much. Oh well, danged if you do, danged if you don't. :r...

Re: Super swamper TSL Radial
I have a set of TSLs and really like them. You are correct about the IROKS wearing quicker, it just depends how much use you plan to get out of them whether that is a factor or not. The IROKs tend to be more expensive to start with too.

Re: Event: HANGOVER RUN 2016
Temps were in the low 20's. Supposed to be in the mid-30's this week! Might have to sneak out again this weekend.

I have a buddy that swears by them. Only complaint I've heard is about tread life.

Re: New Sneakers with Tax Refund...
Things are pretty touch and go right now. The high country is not really passable anymore, so that leaves shorter trips in the areas around my area. One suggestion is to contact https://www.facebook.com/Frontier4Wheelers/ . They do monthly rides and cover a lot more area than I do. I haven't been ou...

Re: New Sneakers with Tax Refund...
My buddy has the Cepek Extreme Country in 35x12.50-15 on his 79 Bronco and I have to say I am extremely impressed with the snow wheeling performance. They look like they would work well. I've been impressed enough that if my rig spent a lot of time on the street I would ditch my TSLs and consider t...

So how was it? We had a good day. Nothing but crust and sugar up high, so we ended up back in the low country powder.

Re: Rear Chains
I used to run chains all the time too, but what I've discovered with bigger tires and lockers is that not only do I not really need them, but there is far less tendency to accidentally dig yourself in.

Re: Trip Report: Snow Wheeling 12/19
Looks great! I missed out as I had eye surgery Thursday and the snowmobiles are hammering roads pretty hard this weekend, so it's probably going to get tough to get around.

Nifty, we did a Christmas tree run but not much wheeling to speak of.

Greenhorn Mtn 11/15/15
Was able to get us into some snow yesterday. Overall it was spotty but plenty of drifted areas to play in! Snow was dense with a slick crust from last week's 40 degree weather, so it was a bit challenging. More snow predicted this week w/high winds so it could get interesting up there. IMG_20151115_...

Re: 2015/2016 Snow Wheeler check-in
I would certainly prefer radials but I am getting these second hand. $500 for 5 tires in great condition, I can't pass them up. I currently run 33" TSL radials and simply need more tire. My group all run 35-38.5" tires and it gets difficult for me to keep up at times. I spent last winter u...

Re: 2015/2016 Snow Wheeler check-in
My first ride was last Sunday. We've got 6-12" on the ground and starting to see some 3-4' drifts to play in. I was by myself so I didn't get too crazy, but hoping to round up a few more rigs and make another run this weekend. Will also have some 36" TSLs within a couple weeks, I can't wai...
