Re: LONG day..
By blow them out you mean wear out all the center lugs and have just big shoulder lugs left or literally blow out..? I'm expecting some killer snow this weekend judging by the forecast for the week in the mountains! And yes I was very very pleased with how these things have done! I already and have ...

Re: LONG day..
Hahahaha look familiar ;) ? And I have a killer review for these TSL's having run the almighty kevlars vs these and I kid you not, these trump kevlars. In practically every respect, balance, noise, driving comfort, and the snow today. I never aired down at all, I just ran 30 psi and was pulling thro...

LONG day..
I have been in the shop since 11 am yesterday having a good old time putting a new clutch in the runner, not a bad run on that one. It was nice to be able to take it for a good rip in the snow too after I pulled it out! Floor jack couldn't reach high enough to get to the trans so like any snow wheel...

Re: 01-19-14 - Darrington
Well I may be interested in a run if you're gonna go this weekend, never been snow wheeling in darrington yet. But I'd like to check it out and I've got new TSL's that need breaking in! But good god Nobody wasn't kidding when he said that run narrow....

Re: Driveline decisions.... What to think?!
Thank you guys! And it "technically" it's not balanced. However it is about the tightest possible tolerances I could get out of it, so therefore it being so dead on I don't even need to balance it. As long as it's got grease, it's good to go! And yes, tough as hell no doubt. If I ever brok...

Driveline decisions.... What to think?!
Well, I broke down as I was sick of having a stock length spline driveline that loved to pull out when it was least opportune, granted it was nicely extended as I milled all of it to thousandths of inches to fit, that doesn't change the fact that 5" of spline travel can't keep up with my front ...

Re: New treads on their way!
Narrow tires definitely have their place in snow and offroad world as a whole as far as i'm concerned, i actually kind of like the look of tall narrow tires, and because of the way they cut and dig into certain terrains, they certainly serve a purpose. But being that my runner is my daily rig, i did...

Re: Snow Wheelin Sunday 1/12?
Ahhh good call.. Well I went solo to tonga on Friday and it would always be nice to have a buddy rig I usually am pretty confident that I can get out of any situation. Got my winch, 4 straps, brake fluid, oil, and my trusty 046 mag.

Oh tell me about it, I love the looks and performance of the swampers... They'll just be something fierce sitting under my runner and hopefully they'll be here and on by next weekend!

Re: 1-10-14 Tonga Ridge, alive and well!!
My altimeter is fairly accurate, within about 100 feet give or take and it was showing roughly 4200' just like every time, and I think it's the 4th or 5th Y actually, at any rate that's were we got up to an it was consistent dumping of snow the entire time from about 3500' and up, pretty happy to ge...

1-10-14 Tonga Ridge, alive and well!!
Here's a quick preview to tonight's trip up tonga ridge, aired down to 12 just to get off a little ice towards the bottom just to save the hassle but no need for any lower, MTR's are a pretty good full pressure tire. I wish I had the TSL's on though in that powder !! Can't wait to give them a try ho...

Re: New treads on their way!
I am thoroughly impressed with the MTR's, however I'm a little disappointed that they discontinued their 37x12.50-15's. That was what I absolutely had my heart, and wallet... set on. But they've phased out all 15's over a 35" so I'm pretty bummed. Also TSL radials in 36's are 5 pounds per tire ...

Re: New treads on their way!
Made my own hot knife attatchment tire siper. Brand new razor blades, I TIG welded to the un threaded part of a long bolt, 3/8" diameter, ground off the rest of the razor blade and I ground another edge to the front of the blade so I can push as pull into the tread blocks up to 1/2" deep. ...

New treads on their way!
Looks like I might be getting lucky if this elusive and shy snow stuff keeps falling that I'll be able to run my new TSL's in some deep powder once they're in. And yes.. You may ask why, From looking at my pictures of my current tires (MTR kevlars) that there is virtually no wear in the 8,000 miles ...

Re: Where's the snow at guys..?
Ugh tell me about it, we've been fortunate these past few years but I completely agree with the '04-'05 analogy. What gives, we started this season looking super promising with record early openings and decent snow wheeling by November and it's taking a crap now.. To my other fellow 4runner sporting...
