Re: Minor Snow Run and snow cave...
Looking good! Nice cave. Have you seen the technique of using a saw to cut blocks? Yeah I had the kids study those videos and give us a presentation on it as part of their school... I have a slightly different idea of what education should be. Our older boy has even installed a lunchbox locker and ...

Minor Snow Run and snow cave...
Went up to out local trail with the 4Runner and the boys. It was perfect at the trail head we met some snow shoe guys who said "you'll never make it!"... We aired the MTRs down to 4psi and crawled up the trail with them left gaping at the trailhead. Snow was a good base but with 40 degree ...

Re: 2005 ford ranger build
I sometimes put like 60-80 psi in my spare and carry a coily hose with a locking chuck on one end and a regular on the other. I have reseated a ton of beads with this setup or just the compressor, mountain dew and a ratchet strap reefed down around the circumferance of the tire. The cool thing is yo...

Re: Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
Went and wheeled an off camber drift after feeding horses today. Holy cow are these things sticky. All forward motion with little or no digging and a great lateral hold. The snow sticks in and to the tread as expected. The broken in played out carcases at even 5 psi bag out nicely and float great. K...

Re: Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
Here they are on the '80. They kind of fit... :redneck: I have some cross over steering that will alow my front end to ride about 1 1/2" further forward. This and the little added bump stop I allready have will solve any hard tire rubbing issues up to about 36" or 37". Then I guess I ...

Re: Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
Just move to the half east of the rockies and you will be good to go. People still make sense over here in general and there are some trails that still aren't closed.

Re: Howdy from BFE Montana...
OK so this is a bad month for finances and I just can't afford to buy a new set of front ring and pinions in the 5.29 flavor for my busted front end. (I ended up striping 6 teeth off the ring gear with my dumbass monster truck maneuver.) Yet it continues to be winter and I am missing wheeling opport...

Re: Snow Tire Help!!
He's in Bozeman, MT according to his profile now so there is some worth while country where he's at... That's about 3 or 4 hours from where I live. But yeah if I was parked where he is in the pic I would get towed for sure. There aren't any palm trees in Bozeman so I'm guessing that's somehwere else.

I like bacon... Personally I think 22s are just for pimps and dope dealers but to each their own ;) . Most guys think I'm nuts for preffering to drive adound in a rusty 90 horse power beer can so who am I to judge equipment right? Back to the topic... Heck, you can run 40psi highway no problem. On b...

Re: Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
It is wierd... There are some guys in the Bitterroot valley, way down on the end nearly in Idaho that do some epic back country snow wheeling. You will probably never see them on youtube it's all pretty sketchy and they are highly territorial. They have huge Toyotas and haul kayakers up in the early...

Re: Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
The pro comps are just cheapo muds but when they were newer they worked great in the deep at about 3-4 psi. When the factory center sipes fall out at about 50% they start to suck in everything. I never had any problems loosing beads though. They are on 8" rims which I think helps. Thankfully th...

Snow Rags... Tire Experiment
So this year I bought some new Goodyears for my 4Runner and ended up reluctantly selling off a set of nicely siped 34" TSLs on beadlocks to a buddy. The TSLs were my intermediate tires that I could throw on whatever underbuilt Toyota to get it able to follow the 4Runner. We mostly used these on...

Here is a really simple attempt... Make it just white lettering in vinyl peel offs, a bumper sticker with black lettering on colored background, whatever.
Sometimes less is more with this stuff. I'm sure somebody can do better though .
