Re: Event: It's almost time for Snow! Liberty Turkey Day + 3

Conditions at Blewet Pass are perfect. About 12" at the top. Lion Rock will be an awesome run. Lower elevation trails will be dry and frozen with low temps. Should be a perfect long weekend. We will be camping on the lower camping area on the south side of the road into Liberty. All welcome.

Re: Need some help getting set up

Go big or get stuck. The bigger the better. In the pic you see my 76F250 weight 9300. It started out stock but if you want to go there is no other way than big rubber. I am running 39.5 Iroks. Going from 37" Super Swampers to the Iroks made the truck a differnet rig in the snow. There is not a ...

Great snow run off FR17 With Dion Z., Rick P. Dion broke a u Joint so Rick and I attempted Gee point and came short about a 1/8 of a mile. Pushing snow with the bumper on the Ford. Once the jeep took over we only gained another 100 feet or so. Aired down to 2 on Jeep and 5 on Ford. I pushed the jeep...

Re: It's almost time for Snow! Liberty Turkey Day + 3

No, not Ford trails. However Liberty is the first place I ever tried to wheel with the Ford. Pucker of 10+, made it all the way thankfully but that was the end of that. I took the buggy for the first time in the cold. Worked good. A tid bit nippy however!

Re: It's almost time for Snow! Liberty Turkey Day + 3

Well a bit late report but we had snow! Ok, very little but plenty of Ice to cause a long day of winching and turning around and going back the way we came. Off camber with trees and a nice edge to keep you on the trail up hill OK just lots of winching up the ice sheet. Down hill, solid ice, off cam...

Re: On-Board Air: York vs Powertank vs ARB

Not only is it a necessity but a spare pump, belt and everything else in double is the only safe way to wheel. Oh, and if going by yourself you are a strong Candidate for the Darwin award's.

Re: It's almost time for Snow! Liberty Turkey Day + 3

Here is a link to the spot we will be camping. Free but no improvements but a outhouse. https://goo.gl/maps/QLEZW It is the second left on Liberty Road. If you get to Pine Gultch NF-9726, Willams creek camp area you missed the left by 200'! Snow runs up high on NF-9718 and 12 to NF-35 and Lion Rock ...

Re: 2-16-2014, Tonga Ridge

Looks like it should! Thanks for the pics. I have both TSL's and Iroks. TSL's siped center only and still have some major chunchs missing on the shoulder lugs. It would only be worse if siped. My Iroks no sipe at all but on my rig have outperformed in every situation the TSL's. Being larger made at ...

Snow Report!

Well Dion, his buddy's and I had a great run today. Just off FR17 we reached some great lookouts viewing the San Juans and a giant Mt. Baker. Snow was easy to get on top of. Started snowing at noon and gave us 2-3 new while we ran the rest of the day. Dion did great running a deep ditch first so the...
