Re: Hangover Run 2010 Trip Report

I picked up some base layer stuff at costco. On the hunt for some non-cotton cargo pants and outer layers still. Enough of this getting soaked crap. :rolleyes2:

Re: New Years Day Snow Photos

So are you guys on a paved road where the bronco and jeep are stuck? How high does it go? That would be just too much fun to have a nice wide road to race on.

Re: Hangover Run 2010 Trip Report

This place tops out about 4200'. The actual top of the mountain is 4700'. At that elevation, we weren't even close to getting out the rain. First thing in the morning it started snowing for about 5 minutes then went back to sideways rain for the rest of the day. I was really hoping for some snow at ...

Re: New Years Day Snow Photos

Awesome trip report. Thanks for sharing! Looks like you had much better snow than we did. Love the 6 tone bronco  Great family pic.

I've always wanted to try the windshield washer trick! Now I know it works. No one gets left behind!

Hangover Run 2010 Trip Report

Brought in another year 4 wheeling in the snow. What a difference a year makes. On this day last year we were buried under massive amounts of snow. This year the mountain reminded us who was in charge. High winds and sideways rain. The roads were a couple inches of slush on top of solid ice. We stop...

Re: Happy new year

Soaking wet is right. I didn't have a dry spot on me by the time I got home.....and the wind! I still had a good time too. I'll try to get some pictures posted today sometime.

Re: Happy new year

Pooring down rain here. Mount Baker snow report says snowlevel will drop and dump about foot on us by this evening. We're heading out in a bit, hope we can get out the rain today! They are also calling for high winds. Hope someone is bringing a chainsaw.

Happy New Year!

Re: Urban Wheeling

You're lucky. All we've gotten on the lowland this year is a light dusting. :frown: Sounds like good times!

I'm hoping the weather turns after the new year. Looks like there's been some light accumulation this week in the mountains.

Snowmobile passenger sleigh

Just stumbled across this equinox passenger sleigh at costco. I never knew anything like this existed.
I think I might know how to talk my wife into a snowmobile now!

Re: Snowshoes at Costco

I just discovered that costco.ca carries a couple higher end showshoes. It appears that costco.com has dropped all snowshoes from their site. Wonder if they'll get them back? http://www.costco.ca/Common/Category.aspx?whse=BCCA&Ne=4000000&eCat=BCCA|111|22109&N=4009793&Nr=P_CatalogName...

Avalanche Safety

This is a pretty good Avalanche Safety presentation. http://www.nwac.us/media/uploads/documents/tutorial/tutorial.swf The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center has a page where staff and others can submit avalanche photos each season. Check it out. http://www.nwac.us/photos/view/avalanches/current/...

Re: Well looks like I will be posting here now!

Nice.... Santa brought me some snow shoes as well. However mine are different than yours. Mine are the Yukon Charlies "Pro Guide V" series. I guess they sent the wrong ones. Sara said they showed up with no trekking poles or bag. She had to call and have those items sent. No gators either ...

Who's going snow wheelin New Years Day?

It's a long standing tradition that I go snow wheelin New Years day. Often referred to as the "Hangover Run". About 15-20 years ago there used to be one big organized hangover run in our area. Now there are so many people out that day that we pretty much do our own thing. Otherwise it just...

Trip Report: Snow wheelin 12-19-2009

Went out to do a little snow wheelin yesterday. Haven't gotten any significant snow accumulation since we were last out a month ago. It was pretty much like wheelin in the spring time. Even though though there wasn't much snow, it was still fun to get out. No one else had been up there since our las...
