I agree if you are just filling a rire but I blow tires all the way off of wheels. The tank at 145psi makes seating the bead much easier.

Re: 1987 4runner SAS

Haha yes, easy but none the less it's certs! Anyway, I have factory AC because I have an SR5, so the AC pump is already there, and I've seen my buddies do it to their Toyota AC so I know how to do it I just didn't know whether it was worth it I think it would be worth it, unless the ac works and yo...

Someone who can weld an easy test in a controlled environment. :redneck:

Go with an engine driven compressor, a York is my preference but I have used a few different stock ac pumps so if you can fund a factory bolt on it might be worth trying.

Ditto! Mine still works but.....it's days are numbered. I have seen a few high dollar ones but I don't want to buy one just to find out its junk.

Re: Fubars snow jeep build

Moving axles vs stretching is the way I would go, easier and it will give you better approach and departure angles. As for a flat bed, it sounds great but often the steel gets heavy fast and can be heavier than original. If it was me I would not reinvent the wheel, stretch it, keep it low. As for li...

Pilchuck

Well its far more hiking than mountaineering but I took the dog up Pilchuck yesterday. I took off from the parking lot early so it was still frozen when I got to the rocks but still warm enough to go to the top in a short sleeved shirt. It's getting close, there will be real snow soon!

Re: 36x12.50 radial TSL

Beware the TSL Radials...! :mad2: after airing them down a few times they formed tiny cracks along the where the tread cap meets the sidewall. These soon became HUGE cracks (within month) I wonder if you bought old tires, rubber breaks down over time and I could see a shop sitting on a set for year...

Re: Anitbott plates for old Grivel G12 crampons

Ok a bit of clarification. What we have are the old style they have a yellow nylon toe vs the black and the way the strap attaches is different but the buckle is the same, the rear spikes are serrated on the new ones and the second spikes from the front seem to have a different shape.

OR Crocodile Gaiters

As my Mt. Rainer climb rapidly approaches I have been scrambling to purchase all the gear that I don't have and Gaiters were on the list. I already have a shorter set of OR gaiters and they have worked good in the past, as long as I was wearing snow pants with them. Since I will be setting up a base...

Re: Anitbott plates for old Grivel G12 crampons

They are the old style, the points are different on the new style and I believe there are only two generations. Look on Backcountry or Gearscan and you can find the bot plates but I don't believe they make them anymore so its just old stock. I have the exact same crampons, I would sharpen them with ...

Re: 36x12.50 radial TSL

I can not say much about how they will last but I can say mine are not balanced and my Bronco does fine on the road. I have run Thornbirds, Boggers, TSL-SXs and a set of cheapo mud terrain on my Bronco and the radiation swamped is by far the best on the road and in the snow. All the other Interco ti...
