How to resize/compress pictures

Post by Nobody » Wed Dec 23, 2009 3:07 pm

To upload images on this forum, you may need to resize/compress them to get the file size down. File size needs to be under 2MB.

The easiest way to compress/resize images is with the Microsoft Image Resizer powertoy for windows XP. It's a free download found here

Windows XP

Since microsoft did not migrate the image resizer to vista/windows 7, a 3rd party created a clone of the tool. I've tested it, and use it. It's safe and works well.

Vista/Windows 7

Once installed, simply "Right Click" an image and select "Resize Pictures".
- 800x600 is a good resolution for posting to forums.
- You can resize multiple pictures at one time.
