In the Olden Days...

I'm not sure why Tom was out sledding with us, but it's a pretty good sled train. Tom and his daughter in front, Matt behind, then Sam, Jason, me, and Sara.

Thanks for sharing these... Good times! The sleds I used were my dads, from the early 1950's. He still has them. I remember waxing them up for the runs. :cool:

I didn't own a sled, needless to say. We had a nice runner sled in Montana, but I think we ditched it, expecting that there wasn't going to be enough snow in WA to use it when we moved. I preferred the toboggan under most conditions, anyway :)

I missed a metal runner sled at the Goodwill recently...guy was walking out the door with it :frown: Every sled type has it's use! I think I have a new backcountry sled spot scouted out!

I missed that second set of pics you posted...taking me way back. I loved how we had to "stop" before hitting 99th ave. :laugh:

Yeah, that ditch in front of Christie West's house was a pretty good brake. On skateboards, too.
