Headed over for Sugarloaf lookout near Leavenworth
Julia's word for the day "wow"
Turned around on the ridge just below the lookout.. Snow was about 2-2.5ft, only run on by snowmobiles. Ran out of daylight to get the lookout, and it was getting cold.
It felt like 2deg, it was cold. You can see my tracks where I stopped
The lookout.. so close! Need to head up earlier next time.
lots of snowmobile tracks
soup and sandwiches
floating nicely

Phenominal pictures. I need to get out of the subdivision and in to the backcountry, sooner rather than later.

thanks. Tires are working really well. Here are some more photos from over the weekend.
sunrise next morning from the bed and breakfast near leavenworth
I had to pry Julia off of her sled to go in and warm up
"again? again?"
a few hours later and a lot of sled rides.. snow almost melted off.. "again? again?"
friends brought their kids
snow melted so had to throw some more down.. "again? again?"

Going a bit back in time... Saturday we went up to Green Mt
about 10 xcountry skiers, they were all seniors.. one made it all the way to the top
this was it for my friend.. stock exploder on 31s. so we all piled in the 4runner
I pulled him in reverse to a flat spot where he turned around
the one xcountry skier who made it.. she looked older than dirt. I hope I can do that when I am her age
Three Fingers on the left.
you can just make the lookout building on top. the view from up there is incredible. I wish they would fix the road to tupso pass to get there

Good Stuff! Word of caution on the rubber boots for the kiddo, their feet will get cold easy. We might have some snow boots left over. They grow out of this stuff too fast!

Thanks for the great pics. Your 4Runner looks like it's working great!
Nice to see someone else wheeling with the family too...
My boys are 8 and 11, love to wheel or do anything in the back country and are even starting to wheel in the snow a bit this year on their own. My favorite thing is that they both said it feels like you are "floating" when you are driving in the snow, compared to dry trails. They totally get it...
