Went for a Sunday wheelin trip
Image

following snowmobile tracks.. snow was a thick rain crust over powder.
The kind where you either pin it and fight through or idle and creep claw on top of.
I only aired down to 5psi being solo, stayed on top pretty well though

I stopped before a steep hairpin turn... Didn't want to attempt it solo without a winch

Nice 4Runner and great pics! My family and I are a Toyota family! We're somewhat new to the Big Lake/Mount Vernon area, and I think Darrington is the closest snow wheeling to us. What FS roads are these? Now that we have some snow, I need to get "The Betsy" our (86' 4Runner) out in it.

Thanks,
Eric

cool pictures,

its sketchy that you wheel alone with no winch and a baby though!

Some of us have to work a weekend from time to time. :frown:

So, you going to spill the beans on where exactly you went, or what?

Nope :P you have to come to find the stashes. Taken me years to find the good spots. I am going next Sunday to an untouched secret stash in Oso if you want in

You're not missing anything yet. If this winter ever turns around we'll all probably be going a lot.

... and I agree with n16ht5 about posting exact locations. There are A LOT of lurkers on this forum, so if you enjoy peaceful winter drives in the snow, don't broadcast to the internet. Too much traffic will just get things shut down. But please do take pictures and rub it in our faces! I love it!

I was committed to watching the game. This is the first year I've watched nearly a whole Seahawk season, so I can't quit now.

n16ht5's 4runner is like a Cabelas on wheels. I'm sure he'd have no problem surviving. I've been saving for winch for about 20 years now. My bronco had a PTO winch on it, but I didn't care for it. Traded it for a transmission that I never used.

I'd like to join you this Sunday. What time and where do you want to meet? I'll be coming from Mount Vernon.
