Anyone know what the conditions are where you're going? Not really interested if it's rutted out channels of ice. Hasn't snowed in a while.

I think it's going to be pretty sugary. Breaking trail will probably be pretty slow. Should be clear and cold with some nice views if we can make it far enough.

I'll come. Never been here, meeting on the side of the highway at the turn off? https://www.google.com/maps/place/48%C2 ... !1s0x0:0x0

That's it. If you don't see anyone at the turn off, head up the gravel road 1/4-1/2 mile. Depends where they unload the trailers.

So how was it? We had a good day. Nothing but crust and sugar up high, so we ended up back in the low country powder.

We were in the sugar too. Some of the Crystals were half the size of my pinky. We were breaking trail very very slowly and fell far short of the top of the mountain. There was probably only 18" of new snow, so we weren't really pushing any snow, just couldn't get any traction at all. I kept hoping get around the mountain into the sun hoping for better traction, but we never made it. We probably would have been stopped by some pretty big drifts regardless. Need that base to setup. I took a couple pictures, but not many. I just haven't had a chance to sit down at the computer. At least you found some sun! What was the temp?

Temps were in the low 20's. Supposed to be in the mid-30's this week! Might have to sneak out again this weekend.

I thought you'd be a lot colder than that. We're actually having a pretty cold winter for Western Washington. Usually we just get a week here and there of cold temps, then it's back in the 40-50's. Our lows have been consistently in the 20-30's for almost a month now. I just wish we could get some lowland snow to go with it. So far just a light dusting.

Ok ok ok, sorry for the delay! I only grabbed the camera a couple times. Just couldn't get out of the shade, so the pictures didn't turn out great. I really thought we had a good chance of getting to the upper mountain for some better photos. I should upload some dash cam of my 500 point turn around attempt.

Your friend with the Sammy on 29's did really well. I tried to pull him when he got suck, but I just couldn't get the traction and I was pulling him deeper, so I said we'd pull him down hill once we all got turned around. Then a few minutes later he was back with the group!

I'm not sure what's worse, the jeep pulling cable, or a ford with the hood up. Should have completed the photo and hooked the strap to the bronco. Would have saved us some time, or we'd each have half a jeep :redneck:
