What are the current specs on your 4runner? Are you wanting to get up and play in the deep stuff?
I'd say the number one priority is some sort of On-Board air. Be it a converted A/C, electric, or compressed C02. Airing down your tires is a must, and you need the ability to fill them back up.
Are you planning on staying in Colorado? Never been there, but I believe you guys get a lot of dry powder down there. That surgar snow can be very challenging at times.

Well right now I am pretty much stock sr5 04 with v8 cai, and custom exhaust looking at the old man emu 3in lift. Good point about the air compressor, I have seen some cool custom mounts in other 4runners. I probably will keep it pretty mellow until the lift tho, but mellow usually involves some deepness too!
What tires are best for snow anyway? Withe lift allows for some more traction> i know studed are the bomb but im lookin 4 something more year round quality too? The snow here is very nice and fluffy!

They keep the roads plowed pretty far up in many areas up here, but from there it's sleds or hike. Also wolf creek has a 50 something in. Base already not too far either for some deep epic lift operated shred along with other back country stuff far and wide. Kinda why I am ready to just go check it all first hand.

In my opinion there isn't a "best" snow wheeling tire. Someone like you isn't going to run around all year on some iroks. If you haven't already, check out the the articles below. In short I recommend a tires that are a Radial, Mud Terrain, have a lot of siping, and at least 35 inches. Run them at 2-5 psi and you're going to do pretty good. As you can imagine a lot of different tires might fall into this category. If you're looking to get a lot of street miles, then a BFG or Goodyear might be the best choice. If you don't care to much about mileage, then you can consider one of the many super swampers. Just keep in mind you want a tire that has a lot of siping or a tire that can be siped. It makes a huge difference, and you get to keep it all year unlike studded tires.

Treasure Mountain looks awesome! I'd love to do that someday.

Goodyear MTRs, 35s. Or treadwright tires in the MTR pattern. Siped
On board air from AC unit.
Atleast a rear locker.
Get real bumpers and a winch.
Dont lift too high
Basically what Nobody says +1
