02-02-12 Logger Island

We attempted Day Lake yesterday.. but didn't quite make it. About a mile from the lake the snow got too bad, so we turned around. it was worse than the last run up to boardman.
Then we had some fun... Dave had a little TOO much fun

Here are some pics for now
Starting out..

lots of trees down.. brought the saw on the truck though


the far right road started getting too much windfall. lets head for the lake

The way to the lake was really chocked full of downed trees too. We were pretty determined though.




the snow was real nasty.. wet, thick.. a lot like elmers glue

No problem



snow was getting deep, very hard to move through.. on the pig it consisted of hammering the gas and holding on


the last road to the lake.. the one on the right was tank trapped, so we took the left (west) road... didn't get far.. snow turned into concrete about 1mi before the lake. I wonder if the XR250 would have floated enough to make it..

probably not.
