Event: New Years Day 2013 Hangover Run
Posted: Fri Dec 21, 2012 11:05 am
This is the official announcement of our unofficial New Years Day Snow Wheeling Run. We will be hitting the logging roads in the hills outside of Sedro Wooley. Last year we were shut down due to a massive land slide, so I will be head up tomorrow to make sure it's open this year.
There has been a lot of recent snow accumulation, so we may not be able to make it very far.
The first part of the road is very steep, along a steep mountain side. If this sort of thing bothers you, or you are not confident in these conditions, this probably is not the run for you.
If you don't have much snow wheeling experience, we will help you the best that we can, but please don't expect the group to turn around.
Everyone should expect to run below 5psi in their tires, and have a way to air up again. If you have never run low pressure, this probably isn't the time to find out if your tire/wheel combo will hold a bead.
Be prepared for winter conditions!
I think that covers the negative nancy stuff... if you still want to go, we'll be meeting at the park-n-ride at Highway 9 and South Skagit Highway. We will be leaving at 9:00am.
