Finally!! Locked and geared.

Well I got a screaming deal from a friend and bought 5.29's in 3rd members with a Detroit locker, put that in the rear and even though I have yet to take it in the snow I am thoroughly impressed with the road driving characteristics of it, since it's not a selectable locker but it is very road friendly. And it locks right up and throws me sideways if I choose! And I'm really enjoying the torque with the 5.29 gears, glad to have them done. Now just OBA !

You will really enjoy the 5.29s with a 22re. That gearing puts everthing just right. Can't go wrong with a detroit either. Now go wheeling and see how awesome it is to have more wheels turning!

That will help a lot! Did you make a decision on what to do for On-board air yet?

Im definitely liking it alot already, it feels strange to pull 35 mph hills in 3rd gear at a normal rpm range haha, not 2nd gear wrapped out. I am itching so bad to get up to Tonga again, I need to know if they've gotten anymore snow because i know the snow report didn't look all that promising but someone said there was 2 feet at Stevens yesterday? Can anyone second that? And still undecided on the on board air because I'm not willing to give up my AC since i really like it. I may just do some sort of tank and compressor near the old spare tire mount.

I think any significant accumulation is two weeks out.

Ahh, lame.. Thank you! I snowmobile at Baker but never wheeled up there, is there anywhere to go up there ? So how about a harbor freight oil less compressor and a tank near the spare tire mount underneath?

Like this, and ive got plenty of tanks to rob that i can use. But is this a viable option?

That pump is rated "up to" 1.35 cfm. In harbor freight specs, I think that means nowhere close. It's better than nothing, but I wouldn't expect that pump to live long. By comparison a York is rated at 4-8+ cfm. Higher rpm pumps faster. Other a/c pumps are probably in the 2-4+ Cfm range.

Ohh okay I see, I'm glad you are able to aid in my decision making process because those are things I would overlook. Bottom line and my only stipulation to on board air is I can't get rid of my factory AC, and I really don't have much space at all for another pulley driven one In the engine bay, however I have lots of space under the bed by where he spare tire would've mounted.

If you want to keep your AC go find a junkyard AC and rig up a pulley to drive it. I wish I would have done that looking back. I used to use the harbor freight $50 compressor, it got me by for a few months, but it was more of a band aid

Read my post in your other thread. You can make it as simple or complicated as you want.
